This year my daughter waned to be a Smurf. And so with her home-made tail and face covered in blue paint, I walked the neighborhood dressed in blue and white with her and her friend Trick-or-Treating. So in the spirit of the Smurfs, I thought I would dedicate this fun drawing to my daughter, from her own Papa Smurf!

HalloweEnthusiasm
Enthusiasm. There are some that simply go through the motions of Halloween and there are others that love to enthusiastically participate. One of the things that I enjoy about this time of year is the creativity with which kids can choose to be whomever they want to be. The only limit is their imagination.

Fun Farewell
Caricatures. Not only do they make unique gifts, but also provide a memorable way to say, "Happy Birthday", "Congratulations", or even "Good Luck".
Recently we were asked to create this fun farewell gift for a special group of ladies that run Canis Resort in Germany-the world's first dog hotel chain with luxury standard. They wanted to say goodbye to a staff member in a creative way that will allow her to always remember them.

-Thank you the opportunity to serve you.

Because I Said So
Our Senses. Sight, Sound, Taste, Touch and Smell. And at a given moment any one of our senses can help us relive memories of the past.
What was the first thing that you thought of after reading the title of this post?
It's funny how simple phrases can stir up vivid childhood memories, while at the same time catching us in bewilderment - that what we once thought we would never say as kids, we now find ourselves saying as parents.

Good Strokes
Cheerleading. What is the goal of having cheerleaders at sporting events? To excite the crowd and energize the players toward victory.
Well, I think it can be said that everyone likes to know people are rooting for you to accomplish your goals and want you to succeed. Besides my wife and daughter, here is a fun caricature I came up with of VoogDesigns #1 Cheerleader. Thank you for all your positive energy!
Please continue reading below how this is reciprocated in The Optimists Creed. Enjoy!

The Optimist Creed
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something special in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance always and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

Blue Mood
Friday Fieldtrips. Every Friday I take my daughter and a few of her friends on a fun fieldtrip to explore, observe and discuss art in the world. Sometimes is simply visiting shops as we walk through a mall. Other times we may go and watch an animated film.
Today we saw "The Smurfs Movie" which had the kids laughing out loud! It was a very kid-friendly movie, and I found it warmly entertaining for adults. And in case you were wondering if I came out of the theater humming or singing "that familiar Smurf tune", I can happily say...No.

Fitness Fundraiser
Cookies, Magazines, Jogging? Yep, it's that time of year again. The school year is now in full swing and so are the fundraisers. However, this one has a twist. Fitness. That's right. The students of St. Augustine Academy in Ventura, CA are focused on fitness for their first fundraiser of the year, and we were happy to provide them with this fun caricature to help keep them laughing with every lap they complete. Good Luck!
